Excellent projects for sustainable building
Sustainability is one of the most important issues of our time. Some of our customers have taken this topic very seriously as well as their social and ecological responsibility. We are proud that we were able to support them in their sustainable construction with our natural stone Silberquarzit.
The vigilius mountain resort now with the Earth Check label in gold
The vigilius mountain resort was the only hotel in Italy to receive the internationally recognized gold label from Earth Check - a certification program for sustainable tourism. The hotel, which is located in South Tyrol at an altitude of 1,500 meters, was recognized for its complete commitment to sustainability. The vigilius mountain resort had previously received the silver certificate three times. In particular, the low-energy construction as well as the intelligent production and monitoring systems are to be emphasized in the sustainable overall concept. The well-known architect Matteo Thun designed the hotel, which opened in 2003. Since then, the Silberquarzit light with rough cleaved surface can be found in the wellness area and in the form of floors.
The Sparkasse headquarters in Göttingen with the gold certificate of the German Sustainable Building Council
Another construction project in which Silberquarzit plays a role is the building of the Sparkasse headquarters at Groner Tor in Göttingen (Germany), which was completed in 2019. The building was awarded with the gold certificate of the German Sustainable Building Council for its ecological, socio-cultural and functional quality. In this certification program, experts assess the effects on the environment, people and profitability over the entire life cycle of the building. We are pleased that our natural stone Silberquarzit also contributes to the use of durable and therefore resource-saving materials in the Sparkasse headquarters in Göttingen as a sustainable building. With a diamond-sawn surface, it is used in the foyer and in the form of floors.
