Silberquarzit at the Arctic Circle
Sweden experiences extreme temperature contrasts: outside, it can get as cold as -30 degrees. At the same time, inside, the sauna heats up to temperatures of between 50 and 100 degrees. Added to this is the humidity from the sauna infusions. This calls for a natural stone that can withstand these extreme conditions and is easy to maintain. That is why the team at Alpha One in Sweden opted for silver quartzite for the new sauna. The work was carried out by Hofer Group GmbH.
The benefits of Silberquarzit in wellness areas
Silberquarzit is particularly well suited to wet and harsh conditions. Liquids simply roll off its surface. Its high density prevents the growth of germs, bacteria, fungi and moss. Walking barefoot on wet tiles is a particularly safe and pleasant experience with Silberquarzit. It achieves a Class C slip resistance rating for both its split-faced and diamond-sawn surfaces. What’s more, this robust natural stone is easy to maintain. Silberquarzit is resistant to acids and alkalis, as well as to water vapour and brine.
